Face lift

What works for dogs doesn’t necessarily translate to people. When I am working on a pet portrait, I posterize the image and pick out different hues in the fur. So I figured, “hey, do that process for people. Our skin isn’t flat and all one color.” Yeah…so…that didn’t work out so well. I tried putting shading on my neck, chin, and forehead. I didn’t love it. I removed it but DID leave my big ol’ bug eyes. And my eyebrows—I love how they turned out! They are leather with a great new-to-me stitch over them. My glasses make me smile and my hair is so textured and fun. I am currently hand-stitching in my curls and feel like it really captures me.
